Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, Schoke Jewish Family Service continues to provide in-home, private duty aides for personal assistance through its Home Companion program. In addition to providing companionship for older adults and loved ones, aides can assist with: - Errands, Housekeeping, Meal Preparation, and Grocery Shopping
- Bathing, Dressing, Mobility, Incontinence Care, and Feeding
- Medication Reminders
All aides are required to complete a seven-week training course, developed by a licensed social worker, and receive certification. All companions’ references are checked, including a criminal background check. As a non-profit, Schoke JFS is able to provide these services as a low-cost alternative to most for-profit home healthcare agencies. Please call 203-921-4162 or e-mail Isrella Knopf, Director of Senior Services, at isrellak@ctjfs.org if you need additional information about this service. | |
