Schoke JFS - Smilow Family Campus

Through a generous gift by Joel E. Smilow, Elayne and James Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County will be moving its Stamford office. The new office, named the Schoke JFS - Smilow Family Campus, will allow Schoke JFS to enhance and expand its services, continuing to build strong, healthy communities across Fairfield County.

Opportunities for mezuzah and room dedications in memory or honor of a loved one are available. Each dedication will be recognized on an accompanying plaque.

Jewish Summer Camp Scholarships for 2019 Available

Through Schoke JFS

Through the generosity of the Joan and Ben Zinbarg-Schoke JFS Camp Scholarship Program, financial assistance is available for eligible families from the Stamford and Upper Fairfield County areas.  Applications are now available.  Interested families should contact Maria McNulty at 203-921-4161 or [email protected].  The deadline is March 15, 2019.

There is an application fee of $18 for the first child and $10 for each additional applicant, not to exceed $36 per family. All information is kept confidential.

The Camp Scholarship Program is also supported by the United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan and Darien and the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County.

New in the Community

Carolann Reid joins Schoke Jewish Family Service as a Case Manager of Senior Services with our Home Companion Program.  

Carolann earned her B.A in Psychology from Oakwood University, in Huntsville, Alabama. She is currently enrolled at Fordham University, where she is pursuing her Masters in Social Work.  Prior to joining Schoke JFS, Carolann worked as a Program Manager and Program Director for Jewish Community of Yonkers Community Partners in New York, where she developed programs to meet the literacy needs of children within the community.

At Schoke JFS, Carolann strives to match home companions to seniors who need extra support with the daily activities of life. Carolann resides in Stratford, CT with her husband and 8-year old daughter.

Brain Fitness Group Program

Want to stimulate your brain power? Sessions will focus on specific areas of concentration. Advance registration suggested. Light refreshments will be served. JCC Members: $8 per session.
