Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy Volunteers at Schoke JFS Freedberg Family Kosher Food Pantry

Fifth and sixth-grade girls from Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy tefillah class, led by Morah Elisheva Kilner, shlepped, sorted and organized food in our pantry.  The students engaged in a discussion about food insecurity and our case management services.  The session also included a sample case management challenge the students were asked to resolve.

Schoke JFS Receives Teen Tzedekah Grant for $800

Beverly Stein and Paul Gordon, Schoke JFS board members, accepted a grant from the Kuriansky Teen Tzedakah Corps, a program of the United Jewish Federation of  Stamford, Ne Canaan, and Darien. The $800 grant was awarded to the Holocaust Survivor Transportation Program.  This grant will help to bring Holocaust survivors to our Anachnu events.

Anachnu Program Holocaust Survivors Gather for Cafe Europa

As part of the Anachnu program, our community's Holocaust survivors gathered on Friday, May 31 at Young Israel of Stamford to listen to live music from Rabbi Eli Kohl and his band and see an exhibit by photographer, Rozanna Frolov, while enjoying lunch from Soosh.  The Anachnu program provides social interaction for Holocaust survivors across our community.  

B’Yachad (We are All Together) Welcomes Participants to Congregation Beth El, Norwalk

Diana Schutt, a spokeswoman for Mosaic of Westchester and the mother of a transgender child, spoke to families about finding LGBTQ+ support in our Jewish community.
